A Group Called TCP (Or Something)

Smash Hits, press for Never Too Late To Love You video (22 October-4 November 1986)

A photo of the 4-member Certain Things Are Likely lineup sitting on a slanted brick floor or street with some graffiti on it. Each of them are wearing sunglasses. Nick and Stevie are in the front, looking towards the camera, with Nick holding his hand up to his collar. Jon and Simon are in the back, looking to the right, somewhat laying down with one of their legs on the ground and the other bent to keep stability due to the slantedness of the ground. Jon's face is mostly cropped out. To the left of this photo is text which is transcribed below.

They're back! Back! BACK!!! Kissing The Pink! Those blokes wot brought us that merry hum “dinger” of a very big hit “The Last Film” which went… erm, erm, can't remember to be quite “frank”. Brrring brrring! By jingo, it's the Bitz “hot”-line!

“Hello - Nick from Kissing The Pink here.” Fancy that!! So, just how did that warblesome tune go?

(Sings) “In the laaaast film I ever saaaaw… they wore suits and they wore tiiiiies…”

Oh yes! So, where have you been for the last two years?

“Er… well, we had two completely flop singles and then disappeared up our own backsides. (?!) There's only four of us now instead of seven - three of them went a bit mad and went off to play withTears For Fears and The Communards and get married and the like. We're actually called KTP now, anyway. We went to America just after our British hit and they were offended by the name - sexual connotations and all that. It's only a snooker term! They're obsessed these Americans, they really are.”

Well! And you've got a rather strange video to go with your new single “Never Too Late To Love You”, have you not?

“Yeah! Haven't you seen it? (No.) Oh, you must. It's got a machine in it and… well, you'll just have to see it.”

Oooer. So… erm, tell us something interesting, Nick

“Pain.”

Oh dear
