Wham! Reviews Love Lasts Forever

Smash Hits single reviews + lyrics to said song with a unique photo of the band (23 June-6 July 1983)

A black and white photo of the 6-member Naked lineup. Nick stands in the middle standing with a neutral expression on his face. Behind him is each member sitting on a wall and smiling. From left to right, Jon, Jo, Stevie, Peter and George.
A review of Love Lasts Forever by George Michael and Andrew Ridgeley, transcribed below.

Via Brian McCloskey (Review, Lyrics), Internet Archive (Review, Lyrics) and World Radio History (pdf).

Transcript

George: Their first Top Of The Pops appearance literally turned my stomach. This one starts promisisngly enough but then the vocal comes in and it's downhill all the way. But it's got just as much — if not more — commercial appeal as "Last Film".

Andrew: This band are the epitome of the New Wave Futurist funk influence creeping in but unfortunately it only sounds good if you speed it up to 78.

Notes

Love Lasts Forever lyrics not transcribed because you can find those elsewhere. By page order the review comes before the lyrics, but I thought it looked nicer with the lyrics first.
