January 2025
January 28 2026: New year same pink! Had a crammed month so I wasn't able to get as much done as I wanted to, but CSS and press
were reorganized, typos and image formatting bugs were fixed, trivia entries were tweaked for clarity. As per usual. No new
lyrics. Some colors were also changed but it was all very minor.
The biggest thing though is that you can now email me for site concerns, bonustracks@proton.me.
This year will mark CTAL's 40th anniversary! January 3rd was Stevie's birthday, he would've been 67. You can see his tiny head on
the right of this box! I'm going to try to do this for each month, like a store bought calendar.
Stuff to expect next: more sections and shorter alt texts, more press, a sitemap, a footer at the bottom of every page, and
hopefully
a new page altogether to showcase some images of the band... we shall see!
December 2025
Dec 15 2025: Yolo! Did some very minor text and css cleanup, added a new Trivia entry and a new piece of press. More to
come.
Dec 14 2025: Hi Kim!
I'll still be working on it but there's a real possibility this will be the last update of the year. I hope everyone has a
great winter. Yesterday the band finally posted about the album, took them only a month.
The main part of this update was reformatting a few parts of the website to be more easily readable all around. This mainly
included removing text that the reader couldn't click on, or unbloating paragraphs. Hence why the main page is much smaller now!
Several trivia entries were rewritten and typos globally were fixed.
Some placeholder graphics were removed as they ended up making their pages look worse too.
Also, if you're blind, the lyrics pages are completely screen reader friendly now. More pages will become friendly soon.
While I'm still not confident enough in the member pages to put them on the main page, two of them received an update where they
have lists of things their respective member did. (Namely what songs they sing on and the little press I have that they are
featured in- note that it doesn't work correctly on mobile so I'll have to fix that at some point.)
Misc fixes:
A bunch of incorrectly placed tags which made certain text break formatting on smaller screens.
Removed unnecessary line breaks.
Corrected Sanity Vanity's colour coding.
Slightly altered the Trivia and Press pages' colours
New lyrics (you can click on this)
ordered alphabetically
This update was way more focussed on new lyrics than I wanted it to be, I didn't add any press! So new press will be the focus of
the next one! Also want to get more artwork done. There's gonna be eight major sections of this website and I was thinking about
adding little pagedolls next to each of the boxes above. We'll see. I've noticed I've been writing the suffix "-ize" as "-ise"
without even thinking about it, all these years of doing write-ups on British bands is finally getting to me.
November 2025
Nov 6 2025: Trivia has been sorted chronologically, a few (3) new song lyrics have been added (The Preacher, She's So Curious,
Suicide. All Nick songs.), as well as one new press (my own Un Lampo Rosa). I wish I had more to say but I've been busy
unfortunately.
Everything's For Sale releases today! Obviously it will take a bit for that to be fully rolled out onto the site but I want to be
on top of things! I have heard the album and let me just say... Kissing the Pink will never stop surprising me.
October 2025
The tracks to the next Kissing the Pink album have been revealed. As well as its title, "Everything's For
Sale". Amazon says it will be available on November 7th. This morning they also released the second single from EFS, The
Preacher. Its
lyrics
will be available here in the next update.
Oct 17 2025: General content update. Lotta new stuff! Prepare for hotfixes.
Full list of new things
New lyrics:
Also fixed the formatting of the lyrics pages to be more consistent with the website overall. Moved a couple of songs around
on the list. How Can I Live? and Katherine Clarke have drawn icons, yay!
New press:
Also fixed colors on the press pages to be less purple.
Trivia updates:
Reworded a couple of entries for clarity, added a few new ones regarding Techno Feudalism.
General:
- Images on a few pages have been resized, the intent was to look a little better on mobile but they ended up looking
better on
desktop too.
- Members bios have been tweaked yet again, they are allllmost good enough to be put on the front page. But not quite.
- Skeletons to several other pages have been drafted or updated- everything is gradual but I know exactly what I want to do
for
the currently unlinked sections on the main page. As well as a sitemap!
Next update:
- I have a full physical copy of a magazine that hasn't been fully scanned online, so I want to get that up.
- Trivia will be sorted chronologically, have some color in its headers for readability and there will be some more
entries.
- As always, more lyrics and press. Hopefully more art too.
I guess you can expect to see that in November.
September 2025
Sep 28th 2025: Another fake sort of update. Very minor fixes globally. Will have more to offer soon, I hope.
Sep 16th 2025: Not a real update, so I won't cycle it out just yet, but on the date of the previous update, the official video
for Techno Feudalism was quietly released on the band's new YouTube channel (trivia point about that soon) as well as Spotify as
the song's visualizer (which got a new hand-written and not ai-written bio, that's fun) and it looks awful! If you can't stomach
non-human made visuals, don't watch it. It's disgusting!!
Sep 13th 2025: Press section has been added! 6 magazine pieces are there right now but I do have a fair
amount
on my radar to add. And a new avenue to look for it too! So I think that of everything complete so far it's most likely to be
updated
in the future.
Misc fixes: Corrected a few words for some Digital People songs, changed wording on a few trivia points to make them easier to
understand, minor formatting changes and broken links fixed too.
New lyrics added: My Light Show, making Digital People's lyrics complete, aside from maybe an
unchecked alternate version or two.
Sep 5th 2025: A little late but last week's update was huge on my end. And huge on yours as things became clickable from the
front
page! The following is a list of the stuff I got done within the past month. Aside from dreaming of sweeping changes like adding
accessibility to everything, future updates will be simpler and just be stuff like "added lyrics to X" or "added X number new
trivia
points". The page for press is almost done, so look out for that! Anyways here is a list of the new stuff.
- THE URL IS CHANGED! Before this update, it was my screen name. I didn't want anybody to find the site thinking it was
anywhere near finished. It's now kissingthepink, so no more confusion!
- Lyrics and Trivia are clickable.
- Completely redid the styling on the lyrics' pages (as in the words for a specific song)- it was already easy on the eyes
but now the colours are even easier. Each members' colours are now colour coded to the same colours as they are on the
members page, and I tested them with a few colourblind tools online, and they all look good!
- The trivia page did not exist at all before. Many more points to be added but I am happy how it is.
- Many many tweaks to lyrics to practically every song. I added a few new ones as well, the total is now 21 complete lyrics
with drafts of about 10 other songs' lyrics.
- Added the meta description tag to every page that should have it. So hopefully the site starts showing up in search
results now.
- Did some placeholder artwork for each of the members' pages and their icons. (Not linked on the main page although it's
easy to get to anyways) The real stuff might take forever but I just needed something down even if it wasn't perfect.
- I removed a lot of empty entries to the lyrics hub page that I knew would take forever to get through. They will be added
back once I get through the categories that I'm already making progress with.
- Several text aesthetic tags (like italics, colour coding for lyrics) now are not emphasized on screenreaders. Thus making
them read pages more accurately. Though I'm not totally sure if there's a way to differentiate between singers on lyrics that
screenreaders can read? I'll try looking into it, but I think it'll be fruitless. If you're blind and using my website, I
love
you.
- Moved around .css files to make things a little more organized. Doesn't really affect you but it's easier for me. I might
reorganize everything again. Also, pages with a lot of inline styling got moved to having their own stylesheets.
- Added a favicon. It just says "KTP" if you can't tell.
- All out of site links now open in a new window.
- Placed older site updates on its own page, you can click on it at the bottom of this box. Updates will cycle out per next
update.
- The groundwork done for many many other pages which means that future updates should be less weird. I want to see if I
can
get
new ones out weekly. But that's not a promise forever.
August 2025
Aug 31st 2025: turns out I did need the whole month after all, oh well! Future updates will be about "added x lyrics" and
"added x lyric image" and "added number new trivia points". Full list of updates tomorrow morning. Hehe. I'm very tired. I have to
wake up at 5am. Yay. Press page mostly set up btw it'll be added soon I prommy.
Aug 14th 2025: (5pm) I listened to Techno-Feudalism! It was not bad! Just waiting on the video now, I guess. The lyrics for the song are up already though. Special, early, wahoo!
Aug 14th 2025: (12am) I did not forget about Simon Aldridge's birthday two days ago. And you best didn't either! Updates are
going
fine on my end. Again, still going to release the lyrics page before the end of the month, alongside another category I don't
have
listed here yet called "oddities". I've been a bit nervous to work on it honestly because Techno Feudalism is probably releasing tomorrow
and that will totally change my world. Hence my slowness. I've been working on something else small to try to distract myself. I'm
keeping my standards very low on the new single. But I'm just hoping it will be okay. Just okay. Hehe. I promise, I do like this
band.
Aug 3rd 2025: Ok so I didn't get the lyrics page open on the day I wanted to. But instead I've decided to re-up everything!
Doing little style and alignment fixes globally so I can also work on other pages quicker as well. It'll be worth it! 22 songs with
their lyrics finished already will be available for you to read soon! Definitely before the end of the month but it shouldn't take
that long. Also, tomorrow is Jon Hall's 66th birthday.
July 2025
Jul 29th 2025: BIG UPDATE! All the members pages are live now! They are not really finished but they are published and they
look
nice and you can click on them on the Neocities feed or by typing the url in. Shouldn't be that hard for you to figure out. The
main thing here is that now I can probably open up the lyrics part of the website soon! I'll shoot for August 1st as the date
that
happens. Then after that I'll start work on the videos and press sections…
Jul 25th 2025: I've moved my editing locally from Neocities to VSCode so I can look at things and test them
without cluttering my Neocities queue with all the constant updates! Got some more lyrics done. Revamped my in-house
To-Do list it's not formatted correctly yet but it will be eventually. All the actual items are
there though. I will have Jon's member page done first.
Jul 23th 2025: Holy shit, I thought imagemaps were the only way of linking images!!! But it's not true!! Huzzah!
I've made really good progress on the members pages, they should be done before the end of the month, but the
graphics won't be complete necessarily. I also took out two of the ideas for pages, so instead of 8 divs there's
only 6. I might change it back to 8 eventually but 6 is a lot more manageable, just in my mind. I am having a lot of
fun writing the code to this website.
Jul 22th 2025: Jesus christ! That looks
awful! I'll try to keep an open mind, heh. I've made a lot of progress on the lyrics section and some good
frameworks for other webpages too. Once I get a good skeleton for the members' pages then I'll open up the lyrics
part of the site, as lyric pages all link to their singer's pages. I had an idea for member webpages where they
would all do a little motion when you hovered over them but that might require javascript and I do not want to learn
a third language when I'm on my second week of web design. They will just be normal imagemaps.
Jul 18th 2025: Got the divs to display correctly on mobile, and I reformatted them for ease of display on desktop
too. For the past four days I've been working mostly on the lyrics part of the website, alongside continuing to
burrow down the rabbit hole, which I may make a blog post in the soon-to-come “words from the webmaster” section.
(though that's a low priority) Making good progress, the lyrics part was the main thing I wanted out of this site.
Not finished enough to link to it yet but hopefully very very soon. I'll change the url once I have done the
skeletons for: lyrics (mostly done), members (gotta learn imagemaps), band story (easy!) and press (gotta figure out
how I want to format it) Also changed the background color on this page to something less bright (thank you
Edmund).
July 14th 2025: Labeled divs properly. But maybe things will be switched around in the future.
July 13th 2025: Figured out how to do divs the way I want them! Doesn't look 100% perfect on mobile but it works.
Hope to figure out pagedolls soon. Spent a lot of the day rabbit holing re:one of the members. Still much to do in
terms of not only website content but also learning about the band.
July 12th 2025: I don't have a Facebook but I decided to haphazardly check the KTP one since I know they're gonna
release something soon and look at
that... sucks it uses an AI filter but I know the artwork won't use AI so that makes it easier to swallow.
Regardless, new KTP material is fun. Techno Feudalism...? Hope that's just the single's name, heheh.
July 11th 2025: Relearned a lot of bits and bobs of HTML. Hoping to get something better by next week.
